were shot and three captured. Apout 600 soldiers are
remaining in the vicinity of Nim Shan for the present.
The Military are holding thirty-nine suspects
aim Shan. Those against whom evidence is obtained
ure executeȧ.
On the 4th of Lay, a pirate jun: sailed to British Waters off Nam & (Chinese Territory) with seven pirates who collected $5 from each fishing junk in British Waters under threats of being pirated. They
also levied $500 from the inhabitants of Nam C, but
the people did not pay. Thirty Eolice from Tai Pang City were sent to surround the place and the seven pirates were captured. There were five other confederates
on the boat who managed to sail away, but not before
one had been shot and wounded. The seven men who were
captured were brought to Jam Shui where they admitted
being pirates. On the 20th May four of them were
executed and the other three who denied the charge
are still being detained.
